FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Rapid Reader

What is RSVP reading?

RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) is a speed reading technique that displays text one word at a time in a fixed position. This eliminates the need for eye movement across a page, allowing your brain to focus entirely on comprehension rather than scanning.

What file formats are supported?

Rapid Reader supports PDF documents, EPUB ebooks, and plain text. You can also paste any text directly into the app. We extract the text content and present it in the RSVP format.

What is the Optimal Recognition Point (ORP)?

The ORP is the natural focal point within each word where your eye tends to land. By highlighting this point (shown in a different color), Rapid Reader helps your brain recognize words faster and reduces reading fatigue.

How fast can I read with Rapid Reader?

Most users start at 250-300 WPM and can comfortably reach 500-600 WPM with practice. Some experienced users read at 1000+ WPM. The key is starting at a comfortable pace and gradually increasing speed.

Is there a mobile app?

The web app works on mobile browsers and can be installed as a PWA (Progressive Web App) for an app-like experience. Native iOS and Android apps are on our roadmap.

Can I try before buying?

Absolutely! The web app is free to use with up to 5 reads. The Pro plan includes a 7-day free trial of all features including the native macOS app.
